Grand Gem Studios is a multimedia entity that was born out of a desire to do two things; to tell stories and to do it in the company of other independent artists.We are on a mission to establish a cast of original characters and fresh narratives by way of illustration, animation and the myriad of other mediums that is at our disposal. The goal is to break new ground in the creative space and build a community of artists who share the drive to make that a reality.

Synopsis

I.Q. - The Story of Isaac Quentin is a tale about a young prodigy with a genius level intellect who is desperate to make a difference in his hood. He can decipher complex equations, build advanced gadgets from household tools and was actually able to sit through a presentation on Fermat's Famous Last Theorem without falling asleep.Unfortunately, one thing that Isaac can't solve is the kind of injustice that inflicts people like him and the folks living in Cogo City. Spurred by the untimely death of his best friend at the hands of a police officer, Isaac is determined to free his city from the ills of unlawfulness. But in his quest, he stumbles upon a conspiracy that might be too big to overcome even for his giant brain. However, knowing Isaac and his pension for decoding the impossible....he's going to try anyway.

After the traumatic experience of losing one of his best friends, Isaac was inspired to use his incredible mind in service of protecting Cogo City from further turmoil. However, at his present state, Isaac is far from capable of protecting anything. He has a long way to go before he can earn the moniker of "savior".On his off time he is usually offering his services to his neighborhood. AGE: 13 Years OldTrevor Bernard is the spirit of the colorful trio. He is affectionately nicknamed "Tre" by his loved ones. He has been labeled a “bad boy” due to his quick temper and knack for getting into fights. Because of his height, Tre often found himself having to punch his way to respect. He quickly won the admiration that he was seeking and he became one of the most well liked kids at school. Despite all of that, Tre would rather spend his time chasing girls, watching his favorite cartoons and hanging out with his two best friends. Unfortunately, Tre was met with an untimely death at the hands of a police officer. AGE: 34 Years OldMarjorie Quentin is the mother of Isaac Quentin. She met Isaac’s father, Isaiah Quentin, in college and at the age of 22 years old, she gave birth to the young prodigy. Shortly after giving birth, Marjorie began to work at a Community Center for at risk youth where she has counseled hundreds of young adults who were in need of jobs, shelter & companionship. She eventually worked her way up to the title of “Director” of the program. Marjorie now raises Isaac by herself and has a wonderful relationship with her son. She enjoys nothing more than failing miserably attempting to discuss advanced physics with Isaac.STRENGTHS: Compassionate, Charitable, strong-willed and an amazing cookWEAKNESSES: Easily attached, Argumentative and she is afraid of spiders.

Their relationship began to change when Michael came to Isaac’s aid when Isaac was being stalked by two bullies. Michael is an average student, which raises the ire of his strict father, who requires Michael to exemplify academic excellence. Despite all of this, Michael is a very positive kid, who usually sees the good in most situations. However, you would not want to make him mad. AGE: 43 Years OldSerge Solomon is of Haitian descent and is one of the most well respected members of the Cogo City community. He garnered the nickname, “Silverman” for his famous gray eyes and silver hair that have made him fairly popular with women. Serge arrived in Cogo City with his parents as refugees from the Francois Duvalier era Haiti in 1965 following the Immigration Act. He became the 1973 Golden Gloves champion. He would go on to help many boys and girls find guidance, discipline and confidence through his boxing gym.STRENGTHS: Amateur boxing champion, Quick adaptability, Bi-lingual, Great father figureWEAKNESSES: Complicated family history, Enjoys black jelly beans, Likes dad jokes

AGE: 18 Years OldVery little is currently known about this individual. Not even his real name. He was given the moniker “Gains” due to his mysterious ability to gain massive amounts of muscle mass at will because of a large amount of the hormone, Insulin Growth Factor (IGF)-1, which allows him to activate a substantial number of satellite cells in his body. This gives him the capacity to go from his normal weight of 187 lbs to well over 500 lbs of muscle. Gains is part of a mysterious gang that is currently at odds with another street gang.
